DANCING HEART

One-day workshop

Saturday November 22nd, Brighton

> Find your Dancing Heart

Dance is the body’s natural response to music and rhythm. For thousand of years it has been used as a powerful tool for healing. Very simply, it brings us into harmony with our selves and the world we move through.

Our bodies resonate naturally, but we all have places where energy is blocked, where we feel stuck, numb, constrained, out of tune. Other places may feel tense, buzzy, spaced-out, or heavy. Underneath those physical feelings there are often emotions waiting to be released – maybe sadness, anger, excitement, or joy.

The energy and shapes held in your body influence your life experience. Your feelings and thoughts about your life are mirrored in your body. By paying attention to these patterns and allowing them to move through dance, you can give them life, allow them to express themselves and set them free. You can expect to:

· Get a real sense of your body’s energy and potential for change.

· Let go of old shapes and patterns that no longer serve you.

· Expand your range of new possibilities and freedom of movement.

· Express your inner self and connect with others.

· Enjoy yourself!

Every Dance of Awareness workshop is different, but they all use breath and deep bodywork techniques, combined with free dance and moving meditation.

> Is it for me?

The workshop is particularly designed for people with an interest in exploring dance and bodywork in a spirit of self discovery. There will be opportunities to work individually, in pairs and as a group. No special skills or experience are needed – just a willingness to be moved by music, and share what emerges in a safe and supportive space.

If you think you can’t dance, that’s fine (in fact, it’s an advantage!). This work is about simply allowing your body to respond naturally to wisdom and creativity you already possess.

These Dance of Awareness workshops take place in Brighton every 2 months. So you have the option of joining an ongoing group of fellow dancers who are committed to deepening their inner awareness and outer expression through dance and movement.
